Carnival

Meanwhile the world is freaking out about Coronavirus, in Menorca we celebrate Carnival.

On Thursday there was the party for children, organized by the municipality, at the Sant Lluís sports center. Giulia and I went to see the little pirates, Star Wars characters, Minions, Harley Quinns, and to attend the awarding of the little King and Queen of the Carnival.
On Friday night some friends and I took part to the masked ball in the Albert Camus hall, and then we danced all night at the Musikbox.
On Saturday took place the carnival parade in Mahon and in the night there were parties in the main sqaure and in the bars.
On Sunday there was the parade in Sant Lluís, with also the wagon from Molí de Baix we have been working on for the past few weeks. The team  of the Casal children, parents and monitores, dressed up as endangered trees and invading animal species won the second place in the competition for the best carnival wagon!
Monday was the traditional day for big carnival celebration in Alaior, but we were too exhausted to go.
The celebrations ended on Tuesday with the staging of the Carnival's death (Enterro den Camestortes), all around the island, as tradition.
