Bergamo

On the 18th of March a picture of a long queue of army trucks leaving the Italian city of Bergamo has been spread all around the world, showing for the first time how sirious the coronavirus emergency had become. The army trucks were carrying away dead bodies to be cremated in other city because the city crematory was insufficient for the number of daily deaths.
Bergamo is my home town, my family live there, and this impressive image struck me very hard. Just after seeing it I realized how bad was the situation there and I started to be worried for the people I know. I feel deeply powerless for beeing far away, but even if I was there, it would be impossible to take care of ill relatives and friends. When someone dies, he/she dies alone, without farewells, hugs, funeral. Hope this will finish soon, everywhere.
